In the late summer of 1892, Lizzie Borden was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe. Testimonies were muddled, evidence was incomplete, and Lizzie was acquitted. Lizzie: The Musical delves into the mysterious mind of Lizzie Borden and speculates on the motivations she may have had: loss of inheritance, history of sexual abuse, overwhelming oppression, and madness. By her side is her older sister Emma, maid Bridget, and neighbor Alice. Together, the four women deliver a punk rock score to tell the story of Lizzie Borden. This full-length musical contains adult material and is not recommended for young patrons.
Unlike our family-friendly melodramas and up coming holiday show, LIZZIE is not for children. Due to the language and adult content of this show, MTC rates this show R, thus the tagline: #notyourmommasmusical

"The Nutcracker's Nuts" by Dennis Wickline is a holiday comedy that was so popular when we did it six years ago, we decided to play it again. The residents of Simon's Rest, a retirement community in Frankfort, Mich., have been complaining about the quality of the holiday program. They're tired of the same boring production of "The Christmas Carol." The guy who plays Scrooge can't remember his lines anymore, and Tiny Tim is six feet tall. The program committee decides on a production of "The Nutcracker." When the residents find out it has a ballet, they want to back out but it's too late - the show is sold out and they come to realize the show must go on! Think of it as your only chance to see the Nutcracker performed with walkers!
